NB: When laying the sensor cable please ensure that no part of the cable comes into 

contact with another part of the cable, and that no part of the sensor cable comes 
into contact with metal surfaces, as this may trigger the alarm. 

 

SMOKE DETECTOR

 

 

The relevant Alarm (1 or 2) should be configured as 

Normal Open

 in the browser 

via the EMD set-up screens [

Device Management/Device Configuration

]. 

When smoke is detected, an audible alarm will sound and the interSeptor Pro-XP will 

be activated and the sensor

s alarm state will change from 

Normal

 to 

Alarm

 
Please refer to the smoke detector manual for the correct physical installation of the 

sensor. 

 

SECURITY SENSOR

 

 

The relevant Alarm (1 or 2) should be configured in the browser via the EMD set-up 
screens [

Device Management/Device Configuration

] to be 

either “Normal Close” 

 

or 

Normal Open

 , depending on the security sensor

s deployment. When a security 

incident is detected, the interSeptor Pro-XP will be activated and the sensor

s alarm 

state will change from 

Normal

 to 

Alarm

 
VOLTAGE SENSOR / PIR SENSOR / VIBRATION SENSOR 

 

The relevant Alarm (1 or 2) should be configured as 

Normal Open

 in the browser 

via the EMD set-up screens [

Device Management/Device Configuration

]. 

When power is lost, movement detected or vibration sensed the status of the sensor 

will change from 

Normal

 to 

Alarm

 

NB: The Voltage Sensor LED does not indicate status and can therefore be ignored. 

 

DRY CONTACT CABLE

 

 

The dry contact cable can be used to monitor any device with a normally 
open/closed contact or high/low alarm output. Connect the dry contact cable to the 

relevant equipment (fire panel, air conditioning unit, UPS, etc) according to the 

manufacturer

s instructions. C

onfigure the correct alarm setting for a ‘

Normal Open

 

or 

Normal Closed

 state (depending on the equipment/alarm being monitored) via 

the EMD set-up screens [

Device Management/Device Configuration

] on the  

interSeptor Pro-XP browser interface. 
 

When an alarm event is detected, the status of the sensor will change from 

Normal

 

to 

Alarm
