If  you  insta ll more tha n one SCSI host a da pter in the computer, ea ch 
boa rd ha s its own SCSI bus. This mea ns devices ca n ha ve duplica te SCSI 
IDs, a s long a s they a re not on the sa me SCSI bus (e.g.  ea ch SCSI bus ca n 
ha ve a  device with SCSI ID 0 , ets.). 

 

If you pla n to connect two host a da pters in two different computers to the 
sa me SCSI bus to they ca n sha re SCSI devices ( see Appendix C, Multiple 
Computer Configura tion ), set the host a da pters to different SCSI IDs . IDs 
6 a nd 7 a re prefera ble , since they ha ve the highest priority  on the SCSI 
bus. 

 

6.3.2 SCSI Parity  Checking   

Select this option to ena ble or disa ble SCSI Pa rity Checking on the host 
a da pter. 

The default setting is Enable.

 

 

The host a da pter a lwa ys checks pa rity when rea ding from the SCSI bus to 
verify the correct tra nsmission from your SCSI devices . You should 
disa ble SCSI Pa rity  Checking if a ny a tta ched SCSI  devices do not 
support  SCSI pa rity . (Most currently  a va ila ble  SCSI devices do support  
SCSI pa rity.)
