Verify installed valve has no
leaks at isolation valve, side
ports, or exit orifices
No leaks
Leaks
As expected
Correct as necessary
While pumps are in
operation listen for the
occasional release of air/gas.
Air being released can be
heard as “Pst, Pst, Pst”
Floats in operation
No air/gas is being released
Valve may be clogged or no air has
been accumulated to be released.
Turn off pumps and listen
and to confirm that with
fluid evacuation floats drop
in valve
Floats are heard dropping to
bottom of valve.
A mild thud is heard
Floats are NOT heard
dropping to bottom of valve.
If no audio is heard when pumps are
shut down it may indicate a valve
clogging
Follow enclosed dis-
assembly procedure
Floats should be clean and
free of debris.
No substantial FOG should
be visible on float wall or
valve body
Make Note if there is excessive
debris
This is a critical point in the logging of the valve’s “experience”. The SWG is a sewage valve. It should be expected
that the internal chamber of the valve and lower control float will show debris and remnants of the sewage media.
However, this debris and/or FOG should be monitored so it does not interfere with seating of any O-rings or with the
movement of any of the floats. Over time there will be a visible surge level and an operational level shown on the
control float body. The Surge level should be approximately 2/3 of height of the valve. The operational level should
be approximately 1/3 the height of the valve. Make note on how clean or dirty the internals of the valve are after this
first week inspection.
It is not expected that any cleaning action be performed after this inspection. If valve has been found to be
operational with no excessive debris the valve should be assembled and closed
with no cleaning action being taken
.
Follow enclosed assembly and installation procedures

For week 2 through 4, follow the same inspection procedures as the first week. Notes should be taken as to change,
if any, in the amount of debris/Fog accumulation inside the air valve.
No cleaning maintenance should be performed
unless it is considered necessary. MAINTAIN GOOD RECORDKEEPING
The purpose of the above worksheet is to determine an effective maintenance schedule based on the particular
conditions present at each valve location.
When the log performance is completed and preventive maintenance schedule set up you may refer to the O &
M Manual for the specific steps on how clean the valve. It is recommended that regardless of the log
performance results, the valve be cleaned once a year for the inspection of the rubber nozzle seat.
