Two side ports are provided on each valve. The upper port is called the gauge port and the
lower port is called a pressure relief port. After gaining a familiarity with the pipeline conditions
and your Vent-Tech valve, these ports utilized together can serve as flushing ports to flush the
valve without requiring disassembly and re-assembly of the valve. Using the upper port as the
inlet and the lower port as the outlet, a certified system maintenance mechanic can:
Close the isolation valve and depressurize the valve.
Flush a stream of water with a maximum recommended temperature of 160o F through the
valve. In the rare occasion where temperatures above 180
o
F are beneficial, please contact
Continue flushing the valve until water runs clear
Consult local requirements for handling of pipeline emissions.
