Designed in accordance with applicable UL/C-UL standards, your Palm
Sander is double insulated. All external metal parts are electrically insulated
from interior parts to prevent electrical shock during operation. This is done by
placing insulation barriers between the electrical and mechanical components
making it unnecessary for the sander to be grounded.
It is designed for sanding and polishing a variety of materials. The tool design
also allows for sanding flush into corners on three sides of the tool.
OPERATING PROCEDURES
Pre-punched, pre-cut sandpaper that is made to fit this tool is available from
some retailers.
As a cheaper alternative, you can use one quarter of a standard sheet of
sandpaper. Cut it in half lengthwise and then in half again crosswise.
INSTALLING SANDPAPER
Unplug the sander.
Turn the tool upside down
Check for any damage to sandpaper and to the sanding pad.
Push the right side / back spring clip lever in toward the side of the tool to
release it and swing it down, opening the paper jaw at the back.
Insert one end of the paper into the rear spring-clip jaw, grit side down and
toward the back.
Close the spring-clip jaw by swinging the lever forward and hooking it in place
behind the tab on the right side of the tool.
Wrap the paper around the pad at the bottom of the tool.
Release the left side / front spring clip and open that clamp jaw.
Insert the front end of the paper into the front clamp as far as possible, drawing
the paper as tightly as possible across the bottom pad.
Close the front spring-clip jaw by swinging the lever back and hooking it in
place behind the tab on the left side of the tool.
If the sandpaper loosens during use, loosen the clips and re-insert the paper.
To allow the efficient pick-up of dust from the work surface, punch holes in the
paper using the plastic hole-punch template.
Line the three tabs up with the edge of the sanding pad and push it against the
paper, forcing the circle of eight buttons to pierce the paper.
