5 Basic Operation
Power On
Switch on the radio by turning the Power/Volume switch clockwise
until a click is heard. If programmed, a beep tone is audible and the
actual channel is announced.
Channel Selection
For setting the channel 1 - 16, rotate the channel selector. If voice
annunciation is activated, the actual channel is announced.
Transmission Mode
To transmit a signal, press PTT, and speak in normal voice with a
distance of 5 cm to microphone.
To transmit without pressing the PTT key, program the Vox func-
tion.
When transmitting a signal the LED lights red.
Reception Mode
By default, the radio is in reception mode. The LED lights green
when a signal is received.
6 Programmable Dual-Keys
Each of the three dual-keys can be programmed with a maximum
of two functions. Function 1 is triggered by pressing the key short-
ly. Function 2 is acitvated / deacitvated by the pressing the key
long. The required time period, for triggering function 2, can be pro-
grammed.
The assignment of the functions to the keys are programmed via
software. More information about programming the various func-
tions and their settings can be found in the manual of the software
T-UP10.

Programmable options: male / female either only channel or chan-
nel and functions.
Whisper
On / Off whisper mode
The microphone gain can be increased by a max. of 4 dB to allow
whispering in necessary situations.
The gain level for the internal and the external microphone can be
set differently.
Talkaround
On / Off talkaround repeater
When set up for repeater operation, all signal are directed to the
repeater. With the function Talkaround, repeater operation can be
deactivated and the direct communication with other radios within
the range of reception is possible.
Call 1/2/3/4
For each channel, a maximum of four selective calls can be pro-
grammed (Call 1/2/3/4). The call will be send by pressing the pro-
grammed dual-key.
