[B] Care and Maintenance
A visual inspection should be made before, during and after use. The R-ALF must be
opened and inspected by a trained, competent person, authorised by the manufacturer
(ISC) at a minimum schedule of every 12 months. The frequency of inspections can be
increased to reflect applicable industry guidance, local legislation and intensity of use
[E] R-ALF Use
1. The correct rope path must be followed when threading the device
2. The R-ALF MUST be used in a minimum 2:1 configuration. ISC Recommend the use
of medium prussik pulleys
3. Maxiumum weight 250kg (550lb) Minimum weight 20kg (44lb).
[F] Misuse
1. Do not climb above the highest anchor point
2. Do not use in a 1:1 configuration
3. Care should be taken not to load the R-ALF across its minor axis or against its axles
across a structure or anchor point
4. Do not use if threaded incorrectly
LH-ALF
The LH-ALF is designed for Load Hauling in industrial, rigging, or tree climbing situa-
tions. The LH-ALF will lock in one direction if the rope is released. To unlock the rope,
pull on the tail of the rope and continue to haul. If the rope is released during lowering,
the load will be arrested.
