Safety First: Working with Electricity
Always:
1. Use safe and established practices.
2. Follow OSH Lock-Out and Tag-Out requirements before carrying out any service or installation
work.
3. Check all devices before use.
• Is the wiring in good condition?
• Is the grounding connection firmly attached?
• Are all sealing devices and compounds in tact and in place?
Never:
1. Use devices if they have any damage.
2. Skip over safety procedures for any reason.
• Faulty wiring or unsafe procedures can cause a fire, explosion or electrical shock.
Station employees and service contractors must understand and comply with these guidelines
completely to ensure safety while the equipment is down.
