Troubleshooting Table
SYMPTOMS
PROBLEM
SOLUTION
Emergency stop activated
Check that the emergency stop is not activated.
Refer to 5.8 Resetting the emergency stop or
lowering feature, page 17.
System does not have power or battery is
discharged
Charge the battery or use emergency battery.
Refer to 5.4 Charging the Battery, page 14.
Ceiling hoist does not respond to the hand
control’s buttons and up/down buttons on the
ceiling hoist are not responding.
Fuse is blown
The fuse needs to be replaced. Contact an
Invacare representative or specialized dealer for
service.
Hand control not connected properly
Check the hand control plug. Refer to 4.4
Inserting hand control plug, page 12.
Ceiling hoist does not respond to the hand
control’s buttons, but up/down buttons on the
ceiling hoist are responding.
Hand control defective
Replace the hand control.
Battery nearly discharged
Charge the battery or use emergency battery.
Refer to 5.4 Charging the Battery, page 14.
Lifting straps will only move down and not up.
Load is too high
Reduce the load. The hoist is equipped with an
over-current safety system.
Hand control defective
Replace the hand control.
Lifting straps will only move up and not down.
Loose strap function activated
Contact an Invacare representative or
specialized dealer for service.
Ceiling hoist speed is the same with and without
load.
Non-load quick movement function activated
permanently
Contact an Invacare representative or
specialized dealer for service.
Lifting hooks do not turn freely enough
Clean or replace the hooks. Contact an Invacare
representative or specialized dealer for service.
Lifting straps are twisted and do not straighten
out.
Straps are frayed
Contact an Invacare representative or
specialized dealer to replace the straps.
