Charging the Battery Pack
You can charge the battery pack while it is inside the terminal or you can charge
an extra battery pack in the battery slot. In either situation, the battery pack
requires the same amount of time to charge.
You can charge either the standard or high performance battery packs. The
charging times indicate the maximum amount of time to charge a fully discharged
battery. It may take less time depending on the state of the battery charge.

The battery pack takes longer to charge if the battery pack is inside the terminal
and you are using the terminal. It also takes longer to charge the battery pack at
more extreme temperatures.
You should always have a battery pack in the terminal to prevent the loss of data
stored in RAM memory.
Troubleshooting
If you are unable to establish a good connection, you may need to:

Set the same serial port parameters for the terminal and the serial device.
•
Connect the correct RS-232 null-modem cable.
•
Connect the dock to AC power.
•
Ensure that the electrical outlet has power.
•
Insert the terminal firmly in the dock.
•
Clean the contacts on the dock and the terminal using a cotton swab and
isopropyl alcohol.
