Inserting the Terminal Into the Communications Dock
After you have connected a power cord and RS-232
cable and mounted the dock to your desk, you are
ready to insert the terminal into the dock and start using
it. You can insert a terminal with a handle or handstrap
attached.
To use the communications dock
1.
Line up the connector on the bottom of the
terminal with the connector on the
communications dock.
2.
Carefully seat the connector on the bottom of the
terminal into the connector on the communications
dock.
3.
Press
_
to turn on the terminal.
Note: You must have a battery pack installed in
the terminal for all operations.
4.
Start the application on the terminal.
Understanding the Status LEDs
The communications dock has four status LEDs that indicate the current status.
Status LED
State
Indicates
Transmit
Blinking yellow
The terminal in the communications
dock is sending data.
Receive
Blinking yellow
The terminal in the communications
dock is receiving data.
Charging
Yellow
The battery pack is charging.
Blinking yellow
The battery pack is bad.
Charging complete
Green
The battery pack is charged.
