Lease time

In a DHCP environment it’s the amount of time a device keeps a
reservation on an IP address when it is oﬀ . For example, if printers
conﬁ gured in DHCP mode never stay oﬀ or disconnected more than
one hour, setting the lease time to one hour and one minute makes the
printer always get the same IP address from the DHCP server. If the
printer does not appear on the network for more than one hour and one
minute, the DHCP server will consider the former IP address of the
printer as available for other devices
