Initial Operation
This chapter describes how to activate the INSYS ADSL 1.0, i.e. how to
connect the INSYS ADSL 1.0 to a PC, and how to prepare it for the
configuration.

The power supply of the INSYS ADSL 1.0 is disabled.
You will need a phone connection cable.
You will need a Cat. 5 network patch cable.
You will need a network card in the PC.

Locate the RJ-45 socket of the network card at the PC.

Make sure not to use the ISDN socket, but the socket of the network
card, which you want to use to configure the INSYS ADSL 1.0.
3.
Plug one end of the network cable into the RJ45 socket of the PC
network card, and the other end into the LAN socket of the INSYS
ADSL 1.0.
4.
Plug one end of the phone connection cable into your phone socket or
DSL splitter, and the other end into the ADSL Line socket of the INSYS
ADSL 1.0.
5.
Connect the INSYS ADSL 1.0 to the power supply.
The Power LED at INSYS ADSL 1.0 lights and the ADSL LED starts to
blink. The ADSL LED lights permanently after successful
synchronisation.
The INSYS ADSL 1.0 is installed successfully and ready for
configuration.
The INSYS ADSL 1.0 provides no direct Internet connection via
Ethernet interface. In order to establish an Internet connections for
diagnosis purposes for example, a PPPoE client must be used. A
detailed an easy description for creating a PPPoE connection in
Windows XP can be found in the Microsoft Knowledge Base
