Cleaning and Disinfecting Procedures:

Plus meter
1. Wash your hands before performing cleaning and disinfection
procedures.
2. Remove a wipe from container and follow product label instruction
to clean and disinfect.
3. Check if the meter is turned off.
4. Wipe the outside of the meter carefully 3 passes both vertically and
horizontally. The meter should remain visibly wet for 2 minutes after
the completion of each treatment.
* To clean the meter, wipe it with a CaviWipesXL™ towelette and leave it
wet for 2 minutes.
* To disinfect the meter, wipe it with another a CaviWipesXL™ towelette and
leave it wet for 2 minutes.
Caution
:
• The meter should be cleaned prior to each disinfection.
(Two CaviWipes disinfecting towelettes in total.)
• To achieve disinfection of all the stated efficacy kill claims, the meter/lancing
device should remain visibly wet for two minutes right after the completion of
each treatment.
Caution
:
Take extreme care not to get liquid in the test strip, test strip port,control
buttons, data port and speaker.
Do not use any type of spray product on your meter.
Caution
:
If the meter is being operated by a second person who is providing testing
assistance to the user, the meter and lancing device should be decontami-
nated prior to use by the second person.
5. Dispose of used wipes.
6. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water after handling the meter,
lacing device or test strips.
Be sure to clean and disinfect your meter when you get dirt, blood or any
type of liquid. It also should be cleaned and disinfected periodically. We
recommend that you perform the cleaning and disinfection procedues
once per week.
After cleaning, performing a control solution test is recommended to
ensure accurate test results.
