Chapter 7: Patch Librarian

 

94 

Press the Left Side Wheel to enter Diagnostics and 
Firmware Update mode. 

Select the firmware file. It will have a name similar to: 

VAX77_Firmware_2_0.ldr 

When the firmware download is complete, follow the 
steps below. If a communications error prevents the 
download from completing, close Patch Librarian, cycle 
power on the VAX77, restart Patch Librarian and try 
again. 

Activating the new firmware 

 

disconnect the USB cable 

 

turn off power to the VAX77 

 

hold down the UP and DOWN arrows while 
you turn on power and continue to hold until 
the „writing firmware‟ message appears (at 
which point you can release the two buttons) 

 

do not turn off power until the process has 
completed and the „writing firmware‟ 
message has disappeared  

 

turn the power off, then back on and the 
new firmware will be active and running. 

 

press SETUP  

 

the new firmware version number will be 
displayed at the top of the screen
