The card reader is connected to the IP controller board (located in the grey IP reader Host) by the card
reader cable. Using this cable the IP controller board communicates with the card reader. When a card
is presented to the reader it will read the card’s data. The IP controller board makes a request to the card
reader for the data. The IP controller board will then transfer this information to the server by means of
an Ethernet connection. The server will receive the card’s data and returns an (error) code to the IP
controller board. The IP controller board will show this code through the LED's in the card reader’s
housing.
Ports
To access the IP-reader with our configuration tools from a workstation, TCP port 10039 needs to be open.
For normal communication with TCP port 10039 and UDP 10039 need to be open in both directions, and
communication using the UDP protocol must be possible between these two points. The workstation
and the IP reader Host.
