Figure 20: Firmware update 

The firmware file is either provided by a TFTP server, uploaded to the  device, or placed on an SD card. 

Before updating, check that you have selected the correct firmware image. 

 

Upload: The firmware update is located on the computer currently in use and is transferred from 

there to the device. 

 

SD card: The firmware update is stored on the SD card and installed from there. 

 

TFTP server: The firmware update is downloaded from a TFTP server on the network. 

 

Preparation: 

It is not recommended to perform the update if the MRP protocol is enabled. Please open the MRP ring 

first by  pulling out one  of the cables and then  disable the media redundancy  protocol. Now  perform the 

firmware update. 

 

Settings 

 

TFTP server IP address: Specify the IP address of the TFTP server available on the network in 

decimal dot notation. 

 

File name: Enter the name of the new firmware file to be installed here. Please specify the name 

relative to the root directory of the server. 

 

Use the button “Start firmware update” to execute the action and confirm it in the window that opens. Please 

make sure that the firmware update can be executed completely.
