Preparing the HFL-400-P/550-P for use:
Unpacking the HFL-400-P/550-P:
The HFL comes packaged for shipment in a carton that is held together with a strap. Packed inside
the shipping carton will be the HFL and a plastic bag containing the Wired Remote Control and the AC
recharging cord.
1)
Remove the box cap and sides
2)
Using a Phillips-head screwdriver, unscrew the two (2) shipping screws
3)
Remove mounting board
4)
Roll the unit onto the floor
5)
Attach the Wired Remote
6)
Test by raising and lowering the seat
7)
Dispose of Packaging
Attaching the Wired Remote
Remove the wired remote control from the shipping bag. Untwist the ties holding the plastic covering
around the wired remote. Remove the protective plastic from the wired remote cable. Plug the wired
remote control into the receptacle on the bottom left side of the Control Box. The connector is keyed
to be installable in only one position.
NOTE: Press firmly to seat the wired remote cable connector properly
.
Charging the Battery Pack
It is recommended that the HFL be charged before its first use.
NOTE: The HFL- 400-P
cannot
be used while it is being charged.
1.
Position the HFL near a standard 110/120 VAC, three-prong wall power outlet.
2.
Attach the female end of provided 3 meter/10 foot Power Cord to the System Control Box (on the
rear of the unit, on the bottom right of the control box).
3.
Attach the male end of the Power Cord to a standard 110/120 VAC grounded wall power outlet.

The System Control Box has two LED indicators: Power and Charging.
•
When the HFL is charging, the Power and Charging Indicator will be lit.
•
When fully charged, the Charging Indicator will go out.
4.
When the unit is fully charged, disconnect the Power Cord from the System Control Box and AC
wall outlet.
5.
Place the Power Cord in a safe place where you can easily locate it the next time the unit requires
charging.
NOTE: The System Control Box will emit an audible tone when a control button is depressed and
the unit requires recharging.
