| Operating Instructions
replace these defective parts with the spare
parts specified by the manufacturer.
• Then carry out a test run before continuing
to work.
REMOVING PACKAGING
1. Remove the items from the box carefully. Check
whether the listed items are completely present in
the box.
2. Check the device carefully for transportation damage.
3. Do not throw any packaging materials away until
you have checked the contents of the packaging for
transportation damage and commissioned the device
successfully. Do not use a damaged device until the
affected parts have been replaced and the fault has
been eliminated. Not adhering to this instruction may
result in severe injuries.
WARNING:
Always ensure that the front handle is attached to
the pole whenever you are operating this tool.
INSTALLING THE REAR HANDLE
(Fig. 1)
1. Insert the handle into the telescopic pipe until it reach-
es the stop (use the guidance groove) and tighten
using the coupling ring.
INSTALLING AND ADJUSTING THE FRONT HANDLE
(Fig. 2)
1. Insert the handle into the holder and tighten using the
star-shaped knob.
2. Move the handle into the desired position. Press the
locking lever down to lock the handle in place.
ADJUSTING THE LENGTH OF THE TELESCOPIC
POLES
(Fig. 3)
1. Loosen the coupling ring.
2. Pull the lower pole into the desired position.
3. Tighten the coupling ring.
INSTALLING THE CHAIN AND GUIDE PLATE
(
Fig. 4 - 6)
(for Pole pruner ITKS 800)
1. Place the chain in the guidance groove of the guide
plate. Ensure the cutting direction is correct. There
are arrows on the chain; these must match the arrows
on the housing to ensure that the chain is mounted
correctly.
2. Secure the chain and guide plate. Place the chain
around the drive wheel and place the guide plate on
the device. Ensure that the chain adjuster locates in
the hole of the guide plate.
3. Now place the cover back on and pull the chain tight.
4. Do not yet tighten the fastening screw completely.
5. Tension the chain so that a maximum of 2 mm can be
lifted in the middle (see the tensioning chapter) and
tighten the fastening screw.
6. Use chain oil to lubricate the chain and allow it to
rotate for a few moments.
STARTING AND STOPPING
(Fig. 7)
1. Grip the pole or the front handle and the main handle
with your hands. On the main handle, press the re-
lease button (1) for the on/off switch with your thumb
and then press the on/off switch (2) to start the device.
2. Release the on/off switch (2) to stop the device.
WARNING:
Do not connect the device to the mains supply until
the attachment has been installed completely. Not
adhering to this may cause the device to start unex-
pectedly and could result in severe injuries.
REPLACING THE SAW CHAIN
(
Fig. 4 - 6)
(for Pole pruner ITKS 800)
The saw chain has extremely sharp saw teeth. Therefore,
it is essential that you wear gloves when handling the
saw chain.
1. Loosen the chain until it hangs down loosely. To do this,
use the multi-tool provided. Insert it into the Allen head
screw of the chain adjuster.
2. Turn the screw anticlockwise until the chain is loose.
3. Now remove the cover. Loosen the hexagon nut and
then the spring washer. Now remove the plastic hous-
ing and lift the chain and the guide plate from the
device. After removing the guide plate and the chain,
remove the chain from the guide plate and lay it to
one side.
Important note:
Clean the oil and sawdust residues off the device
parts under the cover using a brush or compressed
air. Ensure that you clean the oil nozzle in particular.
Clean the groove of the guide plate with a suitable tool or
blow it clean using compressed air. In particular, ensure
that the oil opening in the guide plate is clear. Check the
chain guide for its degree of wear and, if necessary, sand
it down carefully using a file and sand paper. If the guide
plate is so worn in any place that a repair is not possible,
it must be replaced. The guide plate can be ordered from
the manufacturer.
TENSIONING THE CHAIN
(Fig. 8)
The chain must not be too loose. It must be able to be
lifted approx. 2-3 millimetres off the guide plate. Use the
chain adjuster to tension the chain. Always remove the
plug from the socket immediately before you carry out
maintenance tasks on the device. The Allen key screw of
the chain adjuster is on the front of the saw attachment,
next to the guide plate. Turning in a clockwise direction
tightens the chain, turning in an anticlockwise direction
loosens the chain. Pay attention to the sharp cutting teeth
of the saw chain.
FILLING CHAIN LUBRICATION OIL
(Fig. 9)
When working, check the oil tank regularly; never work
without oil!
The gearbox becomes hot during operation. Do not
touch the gearbox housing: danger of burns!
• Clean the petrol cap and its surroundings thoroughly,
