2. Function and features
The S200 is a pulse evaluation system for slip/synchronous monitoring. It moni-
tors the pulse difference between a drive (master) and a slave. For this the S 200
utilises pulses from external pulse pick-ups on 2 separate input channels.
• Setting range of the cycle time:
2 ... 20 s or 0.2 ... 2 s (see type label)
• Maximum input frequency: 700 Hz
(corresponds to 42,000 pulses/min).
• Minimum pulse length: 0.7 ms.
• Pulse pick-ups: 3-wire DC PNP, 2-wire
AC/DC, 2-wire quadronorm,
incremental encoders, mechanical
switches.
Signal level for the S 200 pulse input:
minimum 14 V.
The monitor is not approved for safety tasks in the field of safety
of persons.
3. Mounting
Mount the unit in a control cabinet with a protection rating of at least
IP 54 to guarantee protection against accidental contact with voltages
and against atmospheric influence. The control cabinet should be
installed in accordance with local and national rules and regulations.
Mount the unit on a DIN rail or by means of a mounting base. Once mounted
leave enough space between the unit and the top and bottom of the control
cabinet (to enable air circulation and to avoid excessive heating).
Mounting of the pulse pick-ups:
Adhere to the mounting instructions of
the manufacturer.
For optimum functioning of inductive
switches the following dimensions
should be adhered to:
