2.5.3.7 Super I/O Fan Speed and Fan Control

The super I/O can both monitor and control the fan speed. The super I/O is interfaced to

the fan on the backplane through the board-to-board connectors.

2.5.4 Serial Port Chipset

Two Fintek F81216DG chipsets on the NOVA-LX support six RS-232 serial ports and two

RS-232/422/484 serial ports. The Fintek serial port chipset is interfaced to the southbridge

chipset through the LPC bus. Some of the features of the Fintek chipset are listed below:

Supports LPC interface

Totally provides 4 UART (16550 asynchronous) ports

3 x Pure UART

1 x UART+IR

One Watch dog timer with WDTOUT# signal

One Frequency input 24/48MHz

2.6 PCI Bus

2.6.1 PCI Bus Overview

The PCI bus on the Geode™ CS5536 chipset is interfaced through the GeodeLink

connection between the Geode™ CS5536 and the Geode™ LX 800. Some features of the

PCI bus are listed below:

PCI specification v2.2 compliant

32-Bit, 33 MHz or 66 MHz operation

Transaction FIFOs (First In/First Out)

Bus master or slave

Converts selected PCI configuration bus internal MSR (Model Specific

Capable of handling in-bound transactions immediately after reset - no setup

Mapping of PCI virtual configuration space space is done completely in Virtual

System Architecture (VSA) code

Serialized processor control interface
