5.7.2 ATA Flat Cable Connection

The ATA 66/100 flat cable connects to the NOVA-LX to one or two IDE devices. To connect

an IDE HDD to the NOVA-LX please follow the instructions below.

Step 1:

Locate the IDE connector

. The location/s of the IDE device connector/s is/are

shown in

Chapter 3

Step 2:

Insert the connector

. Connect the IDE cable connector to the on-board

connector. See Figure 5-12. A key on the front of the cable connector ensures it

can only be inserted in one direction.

Connect the cable to an IDE device

. Connect the two connectors on the other

side of the cable to one or two IDE devices. Make sure that pin 1 on the cable
