The Contact Common EMV L2 comes with four approved configurations as shown below (1C, 2C,
3C, 4C); these correspond to the scenarios defined by EMVCo in tag 9F35. Parameters marked as
Major Parameters usually cannot be changed without causing a checksum error, although certain
flag bits (see tables below) can be changed. The Major Parameters are considered read-only
because these are the settings the device was certified with for EMV L2 certification.
