43 Transporting pedelecs
WARNING
Risk of accident and injury!
If the e-drive is started inadvertently, it may cause accidents and serious injuries.

Always remove the battery before parking or storing your pedelec for an
extended period of time.
NOTE
Risk of damage!
Improper transportation can damage the pedelec or the e-drive and its
components.

Secure the pedelec so that it cannot slip or fall during transport.
»
Transport the battery with care and make sure that it is protected against shocks
and impacts.

In addition to the battery, remove any other sensitive or delicate components
(e.g. the display) from the pedelec before transporting it, or protect the
components in some other way to avoid damage during transport.

Observe the transport information in the corresponding manufacturer's
instructions for the e-drive and other components, if necessary.

Switch off the e-drive and remove the battery from the pedelec.
1. If your pedelec is fitted with a disc brake that has a transport lock, attach the transport
lock, if necessary.

Ask your specialist dealer to explain how to operate the transport lock.
2. Mount the pedelec on the bike rack prior to transportation. Observe the information in
the manufacturer's instructions for the bike rack and other components, if necessary.

Only use approved bike racks that are capable of transporting the pedelec in an
upright position.

If you plan on transporting the pedelec in a bus, aeroplane, ship or train:
• Before starting your journey, contact the relevant transport company for information
on the conditions for transporting the battery and the pedelec.
