Software Key functions

Key

Function

Reference

Compose Distress

Push to display the “Compose Distress” screen to select 

the nature of distress, then push the [DISTRESS] (red 

key) to make a call.

NEVER

 MAKE A DISTRESS CALL IF YOUR SHIP 

OR A PERSON IS NOT IN AN EMERGENCY. A 

DISTRESS CALL SHOULD BE MADE ONLY WHEN 

IMMEDIATE HELP IS NEEDED.

Compose Other

Push to compose an Individual call, Group call, Test call, 

and so on.

Unread List

When the transceiver has unread DSC calls, push to 

display the “Unread List” screen.

Scan 

Push to start or stop a Normal or Priority scan.

Push to select a Favorite channel.

Hold down for 1 second to set the selected channel as a 

Favorite channel or clear it as a Favorite channel.

Push to edit the name of the displayed channel.

Backlight

Push to display the backlight brightness adjustment screen.

While in the adjustment mode, push [▲]/[▼][◄]/[►] to
