BASIC OPERATION
■
Call procedure
When your system employs tone sgnalng (excludng
CTCSS and DTCS), a call procedure may be necessary
pror to voce transmsson. The tone sgnallng employed
may be a selectve callng system whch allows you to call
specfic staton(s) only and prevents unwanted statons from
contactng you.

Select the desred TX code channel, 2/5-tone code ac-
cordng to your System Operator’s nstructons.
• Ths may not be necessary dependng on programmng.
• Refer to pages 9–10 for selecton.

Push [Call] (assgned to one of the dealer programmable
keys).

After transmttng, the remander of your communcaton
can be carred out n the normal fashon.

Push and hold

for 1 sec. to turn the power ON.

Push [CH Up] or [CH Down] to select a channel, n se-
quence.

When recevng a call, rotate [VOL] to adjust the audo out-
put level to a comfortable lstenng level.
NOTE:
Dependng on the pre-settng, the transcever auto-
matcally transmts the mcrophone audo for the specfied
tme perod* when a matched RX code sgnal s receved.

Transmitting:
Wat for the channel to become clear to avod nterference.

Take the mcrophone off hook.
• The ‘audble’ condton s selected.
• A prorty channel may be selected automatcally.

• The channel s busy when BUSY ndcator appears on the LCD.

Whle pushng and holdng [PTT], speak nto the mcro-
phone at your normal voce level.

Release [PTT] to return to receve.
IM.ORTANT:
To maxmze the readablty of your sgnal;
1. Pause brefly after pushng [PTT].
2. Hold the mcrophone 5 to 10 cm (2 to 4 nches) from
your mouth, then speak nto the mcrophone at a normal
voce level.
