The
ServerGuide
Setup
and
Installation
CD
contains
a
setup
and
installation
program
that
is
designed
for
your
server.
The
ServerGuide
program
detects
the
server
model
and
optional
hardware
devices
that
are
installed
and
uses
that
information
during
setup
to
configure
the
hardware.
The
ServerGuide
program
simplifies
operating-system
installations
by
providing
updated
device
drivers
and,
in
some
cases,
installing
them
automatically.
If
a
later
version
of
the
ServerGuide
program
is
available,
you
can
download
a
free
image
of
the
ServerGuide
Setup
and
Installation
CD,
or
you
can
purchase
the
CD.

microcode
(firmware)
levels
of
a
ServeRAID
adapter
and
determines
whether
a
later
level
is
available
from
the
CD

Detects
installed
optional
hardware
devices
and
provides
updated
device
drivers
for
most
adapters
and
devices

Provides
diskette-free
installation
for
supported
Windows
operating
systems

Setup
and
configuration

When
you
use
the
ServerGuide
Setup
and
Installation
CD,
you
do
not
need
setup
diskettes.
You
can
use
the
CD
to
configure
any
supported
IBM
server
model.
The
setup
program
provides
a
list
of
tasks
that
are
required
to
set
up
your
server
model.
On
a
server
with
a
ServeRAID
adapter
or
integrated
SAS
controller
with
RAID
capabilities,
you
can
run
the
SCSI
RAID
configuration
program
to
create
logical
drives.
