If no data displays on your screen, two possible problems exist:
– The device drivers did not install. Go to “Verifying AIX Software Installation.”
– The adapter did not install correctly. Go to Chapter 5, “Installing the Gigabit Fibre Channel PCI
Adapter,” on page 15, and return to “Verifying Hardware Installation” on page 15 and repeat
steps 1-3.
If that is not the problem, check your adapter installation. Go to Chapter 3, “Installing the Device
Driver on an RS/6000 and pSeries System,” on page 7 or Chapter 4, “Installing the Device Driver
Software on an RS/6000 SP System,” on page 9.
Verifying AIX Software Installation
To verify that the device driver for the adapter is installed, do the following:
1. If necessary, log in as
root
user, and do the following:
v
For adapter Type 4-S, type
lslpp -h | grep -p df1000f7
v
For adapter Type 4-W, type
lslpp -h | grep -p df1000f9
v
For adapter Type 5704, type
lslpp -h | grep -p df1080f9
2. Press
Enter.
Possible results are as follows:
