TIBURON VERSUS THE COMPETITION
To effectively sell Tiburon, you have to be aware of which vehicles your customers are cross-
shopping—that way, you're prepared when they come in asking questions. In the case of
Tiburon, it goes against a wide variety of competitors-everything from performance-oriented
cars like the Scion tC to mainstream coupes like the Saturn Ion. It also goes against domestics,
like the Ford Mustang.
OVERVIEW
Tiburon has a selection of engines and transmissions
• 2.0-liter 4-cylinder on GS models.
• 2.7-liter V6 standard on GT, GT Limited and SE models for strong performance
(A V6 engine is not available on Scion tC or Honda Civic Si.)
• Standard 5-speed manual transmission on GS, GT and GT Limited models
• Optional 4-speed SHIFTRONIC® automatic transmission on GS, GT and GT Limited models
(Neither Scion tC, Mitsubishi Eclipse GS, Honda Civic Si or Ford Mustang V6 Deluxe offer an
interactive automatic transmission.)
• Standard 6-speed manual transmission on SE models
(A 6-speed manual transmission is not offered on Sion tC, Mitsubishi Eclipse GS or Ford
Mustang V6 Deluxe.)
Tiburon has standard safety technologies
• Front seat-mounted side-impact airbags
(Seat-mounted side-impact airbags are optional on Sion tC.)
• Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS)
(ABS is optional on Ford Mustang)
• 4-wheel disc brakes
• Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
(TPMS is not available on Mitsubishi Eclipse GS or Honda Civic Si.)
