V. TrOubLESHOOTIng:

Refer to Table 5 for common problems and troubleshooting techniques for the vaporizer system. For

questions please consult Hydro Instruments.

TAbLE 5: Troubleshooting Chart

Problem

vacuum piping

• Fouling of pressure chamber
• Faulty chlorine temperature or

pressure sensor did not allow PRV to

• Supply pressure too high
• Low water temperature/level and

failed switches

• By-pass piping through PRV is open

• Lower capacity to within design flow

rate

• Clean inside and outside of chlorine

pressure chamber (follow appropriate
shut down and cleaning procedures)

• Reduce cylinder pressure
• Check and replace equipment.

• Check that by-pass piping is not open

• High pressure in

chlorine pressure
chamber

• Inlet chemical pressure is too high

• Valves closed before and after

vaporizer

• Blockage in supply line

• Lower the room temperature or

decrease the amount of gas padding.

• Open the supply valves

• Evacuate and shut down system.

Clean/replace piping

overpressure

• Follow long term shutdown to
