4-3: Operating Instructions

START UP PROCEDURE

Perform all daily periodic maintenance as specified in this Owner’s Manual.

2. Connect a garden hose to supply water to the truckmount (see Figure 4-2).

3. Toggle the “PUMP-IN SYSTEM” to “HP PUMP & PUMP-IN ON”

4. Connect the cleaning wand or tool to the length of hose required to perform the

cleaning job.

5. Start the truckmount with:

a. The “THROTTLE” cable in the “IDLE ” position.

b. Pull the “CHOKE” cable out if the engine is cold.

c. The “PUMP CLUTCH” switch in the “OFF” position.

6. After the engine starts, allow the truckmount to run in “IDLE ” for 2 - 3 minutes to

warm up. Gradually push in the “CHOKE” as the engine warms up.

Never clean when the TMTG 4000 is in the IDLE mode. Failure to follow this

caution may result in serious component or engine damage.

7. Pull the “THROTTLE” cable all the way out and lock into place.

8. Press the “PUMP CLUTCH” switch to engage the pump clutch for carpet cleaning or

upholstery cleaning as follows:

a. Switch to the “HP Only” if connected to a fresh water supply from a building.

b. Switch to the “HP On & Pump In ON’ if connected to a non-pressurerized water

source such as a fresh water tank.

9. Set the “TEMPERATURE CONTROL” dial

to the desired position.

a. Set to the “WARM” position for upholstery cleaning.

b. Set to the “HOT” position for carpet cleaning.

10. If the Automatic Wastetank Disposal System option is intended to be used and is

properly plumbed to an appropriate wastewater dump location, press the. “AUTO

PUMP-OUT” switch to the “ON” position.

Do not turn on the Automatic Wastetank Disposal System if the outlet is capped

and/or the dump hose is not connected.

11. Adjust the “PRESSURE REGULATOR”, located on the left hand side of the machine,

to the desired cleaning pressure level. Suggested Settings:

Carpet Cleaning: 300-400 psi

Hard Surface Cleaning: 1,000 psi or as indicated on the tool
