Filling and bleeding the TCU and connections

Bleeding the return hose

Proceed as follows to bleed the return hose:

1.

Hold the return hose (16) into a container (min. 10 liters).

2.

In 3-phase operation: Using jog mode (quick switching on and off), check
the rotation direction of the electric motor. An arrow on the housing shows
the correct direction of rotation. If it is necessary to change the direction of
rotation, change two phases in the connection housing of the electrical
motor.

3.

Start the TCU. The oil is sucked from the degasification and dewatering
unit. The level drops. Stop the TCU (switch off) after approx. 5-10 seconds
and wait until the oil level starts to rise again and has reached a constant
level. Air bubbles become visible and rise to the surface of the oil.

4.

Restart the TCU. Oil is pumped from the TCU into the return hose.

4.

Stop the TCU (switch off) as soon as a constant flow rate of deaerated oil
flows from the return hose (16).

5.

Connect the return valve (19) to the hose with a few turns. Do not tighten it
fully.

6.

Place the container under the connection, hold a cloth etc. over the not
fully tightened connection and activate the TCU briefly.

7.

Bleed the connection until no more air leaks out.

Switch off the TCU and tighten the connection.

8.

Installation is now complete and the TCU is ready for start-up.
