knob

Picture M – Belt guard knob

to attach belt guard knob, locate knob (1) and Ø5 mm x 12 mm screw (2) in loose parts bag. install screw in hole

located in guard (3) and attach knob, turning till it is tight.

Warning!

to avoid possible injury, keep guard in place and in proper working order while operating. a

damaged guard must be replaced immediately.

Picture O – Chuck

clean out the tapered hole in the chuck. clean the tapered surface on the arbor (1) with a clean cloth. Make sure

there are no foreign particles sticking to the surfaces. the slightest piece of dirt on any of these surfaces will prevent

the chuck from seating properly. this will cause the drill to “wobble”.

clean this surface (2)

slide the chuck (1, fig. p) up over the arbor (2) as illustrated.

Unlock support lock and raise the table so it’s about two inches (51 mm) below tip of chuck. place scrap wood on

table to protect chuck.

open chuck jaws completely.

rest chuck on table and turn feed handles counterclockwise, for downward travel of the quill (3). press arbor firmly in

chuck.

Picture Q and R – Table adjustment

note: Use a true combination square (see chapter 5).

insert a straight ground steel rod or a straight drill bit (not included) approximately 3” long (7,62 cm) into the chuck.

raise table to working height and lock on column. place combination square flat on table beside rod.

if an adjustment is necessary, loosen the set screw (1, fig. r) under bevel lock with 3 mm hex. “L” wrench, loosen the

table bevel lock (2) with a 24 mm flat wrench. Both screws are located under the table (3).

align the table square to the bit by rotating the table until the square and bit are in line.

retighten table bevel lock.

retighten set screw.

scale

Picture S – Bevel scale

note: the bevel scale has been included to provide a quick method for bevelling the table to approximate angles. if

precise accuracy is necessary, a square or other precision measuring tool should be used to position the table.

to use the bevel scale, do the following.

a.  Loosen set screw and table bevel lock (see step 3 above).

b.  Move table (1) so desired angle or bevel scale is straight across from zero line (2) on table support.

c.  retighten table bevel lock and set screw.
