2.0 ASSEMBLY AND INSTALLATION
2.1 Installation Planning
NOTE: Follow all national and local electrical codes.
To reduce the risk of fire, do not store or use gasoline or other flammable
vapors and liquids in the vicinity of the heater.
This appliance is designed to be built-in or insert mounted (inserted
into an existing fireplace).
If installing insert mounted,
It is recommended to permanently close the damper in the existing
fireplace to prevent a cold down draft.
An optional shroud may be purchased from your local dealer for
insert mount installations. Contact your local dealer for details.
If installing for built-in applications,
An optional finishing trim kit is available. The OS29-FTK/OS34-FTK
provides a 3/4” (19mm) finished edge (black metal) to allow a 1/2”
(12mm) finish board and tile or stone to finish up against, creating a
shadow box for the front trim.
Optional hanging side brackets (OS29-CHB/OS34-CHB) are available
for installing Chaska screen fronts with the standard front trim.
The appliance can also be hardwired or plugged into a receptacle
(power cord supplied).
Select a suitable location that is not susceptible to moisture and is
away from drapes and furniture.
