REAR SUSPENSION

Workshop Manual Ed. 06-2011

Rear shock absorber removal

- Fit a support under the engine so that the rear wheel is raised off the

ground.

- Remove rear chassis, as described in paragraph E - General Procedures.

- Using a 14 mm wrench on the right-hand side and a 17 mm wrench on the

left-hand side, loosen on the left-hand side of the motorcycle the drag link

(2) nut (1) and remove the pin (3).

- Using a 14 mm wrench, loosen nut (4).

- Slightly raise rear swinging arm and remove shock absorber (6) lower pin

(5) from the right side.

- Using a 14 mm wrench, loosen upper nut (7); then remove upper pin (8)

and shock absorber (6) from the right side.

On reassembly, position nut (4), nut (1), and nut (7) on the left side

of shock absorber retaining pins.
