Removing the rear wheel

Preparatory work
Raise the motorcycle with a lift stand. (

Press the brake caliper onto the brake disc by hand in order to push back the
brake piston.

Ensure that the brake caliper is not pressed against the spokes when
pushing back the brake piston.
Remove nut

Remove chain adjuster

Withdraw wheel spindle

only enough to allow
the rear wheel to be pushed forward.
Push the rear wheel forward as far as possible. Remove the chain from the
rear sprocket.

Protect the components against damage by covering them.
Holding the rear wheel, withdraw the wheel spindle. Take the rear wheel out
of the swingarm.

Do not operate the foot brake when the rear wheel is removed.

Always lay the wheel down in such a way that the brake disc is not
damaged.
Press the brake caliper onto the brake disc by hand in order to push back the
brake piston.
