6. Pull the dipstick out and read the oil level.

a) If the oil level is low (A), fill with engine oil and do
a check of the oil level again. For correct oil type,
refer to
Technical data BG 250Petrol on page
57 .
b) If the oil level is high (C), do not fill with more
engine oil. The oil level must be between (A) and
(B).
7. Tighten the oil tank cap correctly before you start the
engine.
To replace engine oil BG 250Petrol
If the engine is cold, start the engine for 1–2 minutes
before you drain the engine oil. This makes the engine
oil warm and easier to drain.
WARNING:
Engine oil is very hot
directly after the engine stops. Let the
engine become cool before you drain the
engine oil. If you spill engine oil on your skin,
clean with soap and water.
1. Put the product on level ground.
2. Put a container below the oil drain plug.
3. Remove the oil tank cap, the oil drain plug and the
washer.
Note:
Discard the washer.
4. Tilt the product and let the oil run out into the
container.
5. Put the engine in level position and fill the oil tank
with recommended oil. Refer to
To do a check of the
oil level (BG 250Petrol) on page 50 and Technical
data BG 250Petrol on page 57
.
6. Install a new washer, the oil drain plug and tighten
the oil tank cap.
To examine the air filter (BG 250Petrol)
CAUTION:
Do not use a product
without an air filter or with a damaged air
filter.
1. Remove the wing nut from the air filter cover, and
remove the air filter cover.
2. Remove the air filter.
3. Remove the foam filter from the paper filter.
4. Examine the foam filter and the paper filter.
5. Replace damaged filters.
6. Replace the air filter as scheduled. Refer to
Maintenance schedule on page 48
.
7. Clean the foam filter and the paper filter if they are
dirty. Refer to To clean the air filter BG 250Petrol on
page 52
.
