20. Upper thread tension

Check

A correct take-up should be obtained at straight stitching and zig-zag

in cotton, when the thread tension dial is set within the marked area.

Adjustment

1. Run the machine and turn the thread tension dial (A) until a correct take-up is obtained.

2. Loosen locking washer (B).

3. Remove the thread tension dial (A) and put it back on the shaft with its white field right in

front of the index.

NOTE !

Before any adjustment is made remove any loose pieces of thread or fluff from

the thread tension discs
