10.  Slings for the Tx 150

Choice of the correct sling is essential for comfortable and safe lifting.
Huntleigh Healthcare offer the Porta™ range of popular slings which are
suited to most users. In the case of special needs Huntleigh are pleased to
quote for individual specifications.

Sling Selection

When selecting which sling to use there are five issues to consider:

1. Client weight

All the Porta™ slings can be used on the Tx 150 hoist.

2. Material.

Slings are available in polyester close knit weave or mesh textured style.
For general usage the close knit weave is recommended. For bathing, or
other purposes where water drainage is required, the mesh textured
material should be used.

3. Sizes

The Porta™ slings are colour code according to size.

Paediatric

Red with yellow strap.

Small

Red.

Universal

Green.

Large

Blue.

Extra Large

Navy Blue.

4. Type

There are four types of Porta™ slings

Sling with head support

Neck roll sling

Toileting sling

Long seat sling.

5. Client position

The Porta™ slings have from three to five loops fitted at each of the four
lifting points. These loops allow the client to be positioned in an upright
or reclined position.
