6.1 Garment Dimensions
Limbs should be measured and the correct garment(s) chosen using the
following measuring guides and tables of dimensions.
When determining the correct garment size:
• Remove any bandages, stockings and/or any bulky dressings.
• Measure the circumference of the limb where stated.
• When measuring, do not pull the tape measure tight.
• Make sure the garment extends above the level of the swelling/
trauma, whilst maintaining the level of comfort.
Note: Garments should not feel tight-fitting when deflated.
1. Arm Garments:
• The length of the garment is measured from the
fingertips to 5 cm below the armpit, with the arm straight.
• The circumference of the garment is measured at the shoulder
