5.  When the Deairing Tank is 3/4 full, turn the Deairing Tank 

FILL/DRAIN valve to the “OFF” position.

6.  Leave the VACUUM/PRESSURE valve on VACUUM for 20-30 

minutes to remove air out of water in Deairing Tank. The Vacuum 

should be in the -28” HG. Then…

7.  After 30 minutes, turn the VACUUM/PRESSURE valve to the OFF 

position. The Valves should now be in the position shown in the 

photo below

8.  You can now turn off your Vacuum Pump 
9.  You can now turn the Lower Deairing Tank valves from Off to 

Pressure

You should now have an adequate supply of Deaired Water in

 the Deairing Tank to initiate a triaxial test.
