11.3.12. Why do some MP3 CD's that I create on my computer not play

on Victor?

Victor will play only MP3 files. It will not play MP2 or MP4 files. Not all MP3

encoders on the market have been tested so it may also be possible that the

type of MP3 encoder used by your computer's CD burning software may be

incompatible. If you have an MP3 file that does not play, contact VisuAide

technical support for more information.

11.4. General

11.4.1. What should I do if the on/off button is not working?

If no beep is heard when you press the on/off button, first ensure the player

is plugged into the AC power source. If the on/off button is still not working,

press and hold it down for 10 seconds. This will reset the power supply. Then

press it again and Victor should beep and start normally.

11.4.2. Can the internal Victor software be updated?

Yes. When VisuAide upgrades the Classic software, customers are able to

install the new software by simply inserting a special upgrade CD into the

player which automatically refreshes its internal software program. The

upgrade CD may be obtained from VisuAide customer support, directly

downloaded from the VisuAide web site, or from some dealers who provide

this support.

11.4.3. Can I reset my player to a factory default state?

Yes. First turn off the player. Be sure it is plugged into an AC power source.

Then turn it back on while holding down the 5 key and the eject key. You will

hear a message that the profile is being reset. WARNING: a factory reset will

also erase all your bookmarks including the current reading position of all

your books. For the C With Recording, all your internal audio notes

and audio bookmarks will also be erased. Factory reset is not necessary for

normal use.

11.4.4. When should I do a factory reset of my Victor?

If you are the only user of your player, the factory reset is not recommended.

It is used by schools or other organizations which share the player among

different users.
