4.3 Initiating an Ad hoc Conference
An Ad hoc conference is activated from a participant endpoint to enable the participant to join
the conference. You can use the remote control to initiate an Ad hoc conference by following
onscreen and voice instructions.
4.3.1 Creating an Ad hoc Conference
You can create an Ad hoc conference from the SMC2.0. A participant can then call the
conference ID and enter the activation password to activate the conference.
Prerequisites
You have configured a GK on the SMC2.0 and added the VP9660 and participants to the
SMC2.0.

Procedure
Step 1
Log in to the SMC2.0 web interface.
Step 2
Choose
Conference
>
Conference Template
and click
Add Conference Template
.

Add Conference Template
page is displayed.
Step 3
Set
Conference name
and
Conference duration
.
Step 4

Advanced Settings
.

Advanced Settings
page is displayed.

Activate conference

Conference ID
and
Conference password
and retain the
default settings for other parameters, as shown in

Conference ID
consists of 1 to 9 digits. If no password is set for the conference, the
endpoint can join the conference without entering the password.
