1.7 The UpdateXpress System Pack Installer (UXSPI)
The UpdateXpress System Pack Installer detects supported and installed device drivers and
firmware in the server and installs available updates.
1.8 Server controls, LEDs, and power
This section describes the controls, light-emitting diodes (LEDs), connectors on the front and
rear of the server, and how to turn the server on and off.
NOTE
The illustrations in this document might differ slightly from your server.
1.8.1 Front view
The following illustration shows the controls, LEDs, and connectors on the front of the server.
(See “Operator information panel” for information about the operator information panel.) The
DVD drive is optional in some models.

Electrostatic-discharge connecto
r: Connect a electrostatic-discharge wrist strap to this
connector when you work with static-sensitive devices.
DVD-eject button
: Press this button to release a CD or DVD from the DVD drive.
DVD drive activity LED
: When this LED is lit, it indicates that the DVD drive is in use.
USB 1 and 2 connectors:
Connect USB devices to these connectors.
Scalability LED
: This LED is lit and remains on during POST on the primary server when
the UEFI and the IMM detect more than four microprocessors. This LED is lit and remains on
after POST on the secondary server.
