7.9.3 Example for Configuring Flexible NetStream
Networking Requirements
As shown in
, the enterprise network is connected to Switch B of the carrier through
Switch A. The Flexible NetStream feature is configured on GE 1/0/0 of Switch B. Then you can
aggregate traffic based on destination IP addresses and port numbers, collect statistics on the
inbound traffic and outbound traffic on an interface, and send the traffic statistics to the NSC.

Configuration Roadmap
The configuration roadmap is as follows:
1.
Set IP addresses for the interfaces on Switch A and Switch B.
2.
Specify the version of the exported packets.
3.
Configure the source address, destination address, and destination port number for
exporting packets.
4.
Configure the Flexible NetStream feature on GE 1/0/0 of Switch B.
Data Preparation
To complete the configuration, you need the following data:
l
IP address of each interface
l
Version of the exported packets
l
Address and port number of the NSC and the source address contained in the packets
l
Traffic statistics to be sent to the NSC
Procedure
Step 1
Set the IP addresses for the interfaces of Switch A and Switch B, as shown in
. The
configuration procedure is not mentioned here.
Step 2
Specify the version of the exported packets.
