Layer Logs

On the Windows or Linux system, use InfoCollect to collect logs at the service layer of the system.

To collect VMware host logs, run the vm-support command on the CLI of the host. A log
package is generated, as shown in the following figure. Then this log package is transferred to a
local PC by using WinSCP.

Use the vSphere Client to log in to the ESXi host. Choose File > Export > Export System Logs ,
click Next , select a save path, click Next , and click Finish .

Collect the kernel version and files in /var/log/ for a Ubuntu or Solaris host.
 Use an official tool to collect QLogic host bus adapter (HBA) logs.
 Use an official tool to collect Emulex HBA logs.
