3.7.6 Slot Assignment for the RFUs in a Base Station Working in
GSM+LTE Mode
When a base station works in GSM+LTE mode, the RFU slot assignment in a cabinet must
comply with specific principles.
Precautions for RFU Slot Assignment
l
The 3900 series macro base station of SRAN5.0 supports the configurations of MRFUs,
hybrid configurations of GRFUs and MRFUs, hybrid configurations of GRFUs and LRFUs,
and hybrid configurations of MRFUs and LRFUs. Hybrid configurations are used only for
capacity expansion. The base station with the hybrid configurations of GRFUs and MRFUs
does not support MIMO.
l
In a base station, the RFUs in the same frequency band must be of the same type.
Numbering Scheme
l
The sectors in a base station working in GSM only mode are numbered from G1 in a
numerical order, for example G1 and G2. Low-frequency sectors are numbered from G1
to G6, and high-frequency sectors are numbered from G7 to G12.
