1.2 Network Structure

to implement the communication between the mobile
network and the MS.

The RRU is used to process and transfer RF signals
between the BBU and the antenna system.

Station (BTS)
The BTS is used to transmit and receive radio signals and to
implement the communication between the mobile network
and the MS.

Distributed
Base
Station (DBS)
The DBS is usually composed by the baseband processing
unit, remote RF module, and auxiliary equipment. The DBS
is used to implement the functions of a BTS receiver and
transmitter.
