5.3 BIOS beep codes

5.4 System boot failure
If the system does not display POST (Power-On-Self-Test) or does not respond after the power is
turned on, check the following:
1. Confirm that the CPUs are properly installed. If CPUs are not installed/detected, the system
does not do anything when the power button is pressed.
2. Clear the CMOS settings using the CMOS Clear Jumper.
3. Remove all components from the motherboard, especially the DIMM modules.
4. Turn on the system with only one DIMM module installed. If the system boots, check for bad
DIMM modules.
5.5 Memory errors
1. Make sure that the DIMM modules are properly and fully installed.
2. Confirm that you are using the correct memory. Also, it is recommended that you use the same
memory type and speed for all DIMMs in the system.
3. Check for bad DIMM modules or slots by swapping modules between slots and noting the
results.
5.6 Memory is missing after POST
If a CPU is not properly torqued during installation, memory will not be “trained” for that CPU,
resulting in missing memory after POST. In this case, reinstalling and properly torquing the CPU
should make the memory appear.
