3 Interoperability with other products and functions
This chapter provides information about Compatible XRC interoperability with other products and
functions.
Terminology
Business Copy Z volumes displayed in the Remote Web Console windows and messages differ
between Remote Web Console main windows and secondary windows. The differences are shown

Volume sharing between Compatible XRC and other copy functions
The XP P9500 supports concurrent operations of Compatible XRC with other copy functions. The
following table indicates whether Compatible XRC volumes can be shared with other copy functions.

Notes:
1.
An S-VOL of Compatible XRC cannot be used as an Compatible XRC P-VOL within the same Compatible XRC
session, but it can be used as an Compatible XRC P-VOL in another Compatible XRC session.
2.
When the Compatible XRC P-VOL and the BC Z S-VOL are the same volume, you cannot use the Reverse Copy or
Quick Restore commands of BC Z.
Using two Compatible XRC pairs in conjunction
You can use two Compatible XRC pairs in conjunction to maintain three copies of data at multiple
secondary sites for disaster recovery purposes. The following figure shows the configuration in
which two Compatible XRC operations are performed. Data is copied from the primary site to the
first secondary site using Compatible XRC, and then the same data is copied from the first secondary
site to the second secondary site using Compatible XRC.
